Painted house

Joe and I knew we would need to have the exterior of the house painted this year. After he was elected as a Board of Trustee, we knew it would be even more important for the house to look good. We hired one of our friends who owns a painting business. He came and did the whole thing in 2 short days! I absolutely LOVE the color!! Even though there was a little mix up and we painted it the wrong color we had approved by our HOA. All worked out though and come to find out both Joe and I like this one better anyway!

Green Chile Kinda Sunday....

I think I have mentioned before how much I love Joe's green chile! This week I pulled the chile's out of the freezer and put them in the fridge. I have been craving some, and was hoping he would make a big batch! Today, he did with help from Emma. It's on the stove and smells amazing, can't wait to try it out!!

Turning 31...

My actual birthday was a bit of a bust, however Saturday night at the Rio with my family and closest friends more than made up for it! We headed over to Boulder on the bus at 4:21pm arrived at 5:02pm, that's when the fun began. We ate, drank and laughed. After being there we headed over to The Walrus, another one of my favorites! More drinking, hanging out, laughing and playing pool. I feel so blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life! Thanks for making it such a fun night!!

Ahh, homework....

Emma has been bringing homework home for the last weeks in preparation for Kindergarten. I have really enjoyed sitting down with her and seeing how much she has learned over the last 8 months. It's hard to believe she will be a kindergartner in the fall!

Dance party!

I'm sure Jack will hate this picture when he is older, but they were playing so sweet with each other!

Sworn in!

Tonight Joe was sworn in as a new Erie Board of Trustee member! Following the swearing in, the new board took their seats and began the meeting. It was so exciting to see him sitting up there! He was so excited! He will be a huge asset to the Town of Erie!

Opening day...

What a perfect Colorado spring day! The sun was shining, blue skies, great friends, beer and some baseball! Joe, Jamie, Chad, James & Allison and I all headed downtown for the Rockies home opener. We started at the Cowboy lounge and had a few drinks and then headed onto the game. We didn't all have seats together, so we split up went to our seats and waited to see what we could do to get all together. Joe, Jamie & I were in the shade, and we were all 3 very anxious about seating in the sun. So we made our way around the stadium and found 3 seats together in the sun!! After a little while Jamie got a call from Allison and we made our way over there. They had great seats, and they were in the sun. It was a perfect afternoon! We had to head home early because Emma has an ear infection and wasn't feeling good. I am just so glad Joe and I were both able to go. We had a quiet night and luckily Emma seems to be feel better!

Soccer!!

Emma started soccer, and was so excited! It was really cute because Jack also thought he was starting soccer too and couldn't wait to go. In reality, he wasn't he is still to young. However, I still got them both ready, Jack in his 'shin guards' and all. Emma had a great time, she was fully engaged and ran around for the full 45 minutes. I was so impressed with her! She is pretty good too! Jack also had fun, kicked the ball around with his dad and then another kid that was at the field. I love Spring, such a fun Thursday night being outside!

Election day!

When we woke up on Tuesday morning, it wasn't your average day. It was the day we had been waiting for, Election day!! I asked Joe if he was nervous, his response was "No, I'm excited!" I can't say the same, I was nervous and anxious to know all day! We headed over the The Parkway grill and Tavern to wait for the results. Family, friends and other candidates were there. It was so much fun waiting with everyone and reflecting on the weeks while all the campaigning was happening.

Finally, at 745pm the results came in... Joe was elected!!! I have never been so proud and excited! He worked so hard, and deserves this! While it was hard because not all were elected that we wanted, but non the less it was a great night!!

Joe has a lot of hard work ahead of him, but he is up for the challenge. I can also say Emma, Jack and myself are supporting him on this end and will do whatever we can to help him do what he needs to for Erie!! Cheers to you babe! I love you so much! Way to go!!!

Easter!

I love Easter, the colors, start of spring and most importantly being with family. Emma woke us up bright and early at 630am to see what the Easter bunny had brought her. After looking at her basket, she started noticing eggs were hidden. She was very anxious for Jack to get up so they could go on the hunt! After she 'woke' him up by being a little loud. They did their egg hunt. She was much more into it than he was. We had a lazy morning playing with their new things and cuddling. Then we headed over to Mimi & Poppa's for brunch with Auntie Elvie, Auntie Jamie, Uncle Chad, Clayton & Taylor. Lots more Easter baskets and another egg hunt, some delicious food, great company and then to top it off it was beautiful outside!! We all came home had a nap and then headed up to Aunt Kate and Uncle John's for dinner. Elmo, Uncle Mike, Aunt Emily, Grant & Clare were all there where they had yet another basket to look through! What lucky kids!! After a great dinner, and dessert we came home and put our jammies on. What a great day!!! I feel so blessed to have such an amazing family!!

Babysitting!

Kate and John have helped with our kids so we could have a weekend away! Kate asked if we could watch the kids so they could go to dinner with some friends. They were going to have a sleepover, but since it was Easter weekend, we thought it would best for them to wake up at their own house. Grant & Clare came over about 6pm and played with us. All the kids had such a good time together. We dyed some Easter eggs at my girlfriend Crystal's house. Jack didn't just dye Easter eggs, but he also dyed his hands blue!! When we came home Clare wanted to sleep with Jack and Grant with Emma until their parents came to get them. Shockingly, the little kids did fine but the older kids had to be separated! It was a lot of fun having them all together!
