Springtime...

I love springtime, as does everyone else. All the flowers, everything green, the smell, open windows, BBQ's ect. It's such a fun time of year. Usually we plant flowers on Mother's day, however this year in Colorado it has been so cold. It even snowed on May 12th! So Joe and I decided to wait a bit longer. On Monday night we did our planting. The kids were having dinner with Mimi and Poppa, so Joe and I had some alone time and decided to work in the yard. It was such a great evening, and the yard looks great!!

Emma t-ball....

I enrolled Emma in t-ball, when I told her I did this she was not excited! I kept telling her she would have fun and to give it a chance. She had her first practice last night with Coach Omar and coach Michelle. I requested her to be on their team, they are both such wonderful people! I had to work so I didn't get to watch, but Joe was good enough to snap some photos. (Thanks honey!) When I got home and asked her how her practice was, she popped up and said "Great!!" we learned about grounders, pop flies ect.... I knew she would love it! I can't wait to watch her in action.

So peaceful...

Jack is one of the busiest kids! He is always moving, jumping, screaming, playing sword, bugging Emma you name he is doing it! I will say once he is asleep, he is out and for a long time! I was able to get this picture of him while he was napping. I love the sweet, innocent face. I think I might have woke him up though, Oops! Good thing it was at the end of his 3 hour nap!!

Tri girl...

It's hard to believe how much my life has changed since May 21, 2007. It was the day I had the tumor removed from my pituitary gland. As scared as I was (and Joe) we knew it had to be done. Since the surgery, I have felt great! I am still under a doctors care, but I have not had any headaches since that day in May. Thank the lord!! I have tried to be an example for my children, by not defining myself by my illness. Therefore, 1 year after my surgery with a lot of hard work and dedication as well as some help from my friend and coach Michelle, I competed in my first triathlon, the Greeley triathlon. I went onto to do 2 more last summer. I love the feeling of crossing that finish line! I just finished the Fort Collins tri on Sunday and while it has almost been 2 years I also had my best time! I am a tri girl!!

Date night/Gina & April bday celebration

Joe and I hadn't been out just the two of us in several weeks, and we both really wanted some time together. We had Sarah Choo come over to watch the kids, and went to one of our favorite places for dinner Si Senor. It just so happened that Corey and Jason also planned a birthday celebration for Gina & April's birthday. It was so fun hanging out with good friends, that we hadn't seen in what has seemed like forever. What a great night, a date with my hubby and celebrating with great friends! Happy Birthday Gina & April!!

Needtobreathe

I had never heard of the band Needtobreathe or as I kept calling them yesterday shooting the breeze. Until my sister Kate called and invited me to their concert. Last night Kate, Emily and I went down to the Bluebird in Denver. Despite the rain and yucky weather, we had a wonderful time!!! We were on the floor about as close as you can get to the stage. Needtobreather put on an amazing show! Thanks Kate for inviting me, I had such a great time!!

Mother's Day!

Such a special day! I had lunch with my mom yesterday after Emily's graduation, which also turned into a Mother's day celebration. Such a great way to start the weekend off. Joe and the kids have done a wonderful job of making me feel extra special today! I am the lucky one though, to have 2 such wonderful children and a great husband to share them with. We had a wonderful brunch today at our house with Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Jamie, Uncle Chad, Taylor, Clayton, Auntie Elvie, Uncle Gary and Jennie. I feel so blessed to have not only an amazing mother but also an amazing mother in law. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by such extraordinary women. Happy Mother's Day!

Mexico!!!

We took our annual trip to Mexico, and it was fantastic!! It was even more special because the whole family was there. Jamie, Chad, Clayton, Taylor, Randy, Bev, Aunt Elvie, Uncle Gary, Jennie, Toni & Nick as well as about 25 others. But we all haven't been down there at the same time. We were close 8 years ago when we got married, but we were still missing one. It was so fun to all be together for a whole week. The kids LOVED being with their cousins, Grandma & Grandpa, the pool and fun activities in the activity center. Joe and I both were able to relax, and enjoy the beautiful weather and some much needed time with the family. Now back to reality!

Learning to ride a bike!

Emma is still learning to ride a bike with no training wheels. I'm sure by the end of the summer she will have it down, if not sooner. We decided to put Jack on his bike and start teaching with to ride too! We headed out one night after dinner, Jack had to wear my helmet (it was a little big, but it worked until we could get out and get him a new one.) Jack also got himself ready to go with his boots and all!
